You can increase your yield and grow healthy plants using organic meals. These are a tested and proven formula for healthy growth, given they are made from bone, fish, blood, kelp, and alfalfa. All of these types carry different benefits and serve a different purpose.
Blood Meal – It is rich in nitrogen and can be used when plants need a quick and heavy dose of nitrogen in one shot. Derived from organic animal by-products, these meals have a 12-0-0 NPK ratio and are to be used with extreme caution as they can burn plants if not used with proper care.
Bone Meal – With a 3-15-0 NPK ratio, these meals serve to be a great source of phosphorous.
Kelp Meal – While these meals are rich in micronutrients, they are poor sources of macronutrients. They are derived from seaweed and can serve to be very helpful for plants with micronutrient deficiencies.
Fish Meal – Derived from fish, these provide plants with a healthy dose of nitrogen and phosphorous with a 10-6-2 NPK ratio.
Cottonseed Meal – A by-product of cotton, this meal is great for acid-loving plant foods. They have a 10-0.4-1.5 NPK ratio.
