WHAT IS THE BEST LIGHT BULB FOR GROWING PLANTS?

Before installing a light bulb for your plants, you should consider the size of your indoor garden area, budget, and horticultural goals. MH and HPS bulbs are some of the most straightforward lighting technology in the market that is perfect for large spaces. These High-Intensity Discharge (HID) grow lights cover a lot of space but burn hot.

LEC and CMH bulbs are the latest and the most resourceful HID lighting technology. These lights have increased efficiency, higher quality of light over HPS and MH grow lights, lower heat output, and the best part; they last two times longer than the other HID bulbs!

WHAT LIGHT IS BEST FOR INDOOR PLANTS?

Plants grow to their full potential when they get light from different parts of the spectrum during the vegetative stage (the peak process of photosynthesis) on an 18/6 photoperiod. This process leads to more bud sites and leafy growth. Light is required for a 12/12 photoperiod from the red spectrum for heavy budding.

It's important to consider other lights on the spectrum, like infrared and UV. It's debatable, but some growers believe that UV-b increases THC production.

CAN FULL-SPECTRUM LIGHT BULBS GROW PLANTS?

It is essential to create a full spectrum of light to get heavy budding during flowering and leafy growth while vegging. Most growers use a combination of HPS and MH bulbs to achieve this. The most efficient way, however, is to use a full spectrum grow light bulb. Plus, full-spectrum grow lights make the process of providing light unbelievably easy from each necessary spectrum to your plants, depending on what stage they’re in.
